Microsoft's Natural 4000 keyboard (sometimes called the Ergo 4000) is a breakthrough in ergonomic keyboard design. The improved design employs a split keyboard that promotes a more natural hand, wrist and forearm position for greater comfort and decreased strain.
The Natural 4000 has a split QWERTY layout, plus a host of additional functions including; web browser: back/forward/home/search/mail/favourites buttons, audio controls: mute/volume up and down/play/pause buttons, as well as calculator and zoom buttons. These extra buttons mean that it is easy to access these functions in one click rather than moving the mouse pointer on the screen.
As it is a very different design to a standard keyboard it can take a couple of days to get used to. But when it is used, it can have a dramatic effect on reducing the symptoms of RSI.
